New comic, on time!
November 26, 2008: Crazy isn't it? I actually managed to get a comic out on time. This one is actually one of my personal favorites so I hope you enjoy it. Also, I'm trying out a new style for the word bubbles, I hope you like it. -Pete Where'd you go?
November, 24 2008: I'm sick of throwing out apologies for not updating, but I'll do one more. I am very sorry for not having any updates for the longest time. I must say, keeping up with this website is proving to be more challenging than I originally thought, but I'm determined to update it regularly more often. You may be wondering what's been keeping me so busy that I haven't had time to update the website, well, honestly, I just really need to find a way to get some money, so I've been job hunting and trying out some freelance stuff, nothings really working out so far. I'm sure eventually I'll figure something out, for now I'm just enjoying having no real obligations. -The Pete EXPLANATION TIME!
October 27, 2008: Alright. The current reason with SDA not being updated, is, *drum roll* I have had stomach flu for rougly a week. Yeah, stomach flu, the one that gives you constant stomach pain, bowels always moving, bad gas, throwing up even if you haven't eaten anything, chills, diharrea etc. It blowed... Let's just put it this way, I barely had enough energy to do anything. The first day, ha! I tried to get on the computer...it worked for a little, then I almost vomited on my computer. next day...not so well. barely had enough energy to roll out of the bed, could basically sit, drink water and change the tv channels (thank god). So, we will be getting a comic up soon, I need to talk with our colorist and then we'll get a comic up! So, to those of our favorite (and few lol) fans, don't distress SDA is not dead. Aufwiedersehen! -Dirk Cooky
October 8, 2008: Also known as "comic hooky," of which I am super guilty. I apologize for not getting any comics up lately, but to be honest they haven't gone up because of one reason, I HATE coloring! I detest it; it eats up probably 90% of the comic making time. I respect the artists who can put in the time to color them, but I just can't. That's why it's such a good thing that we have a guy who's willing to color these for us! But, color comes at a price. The comics may be coming kind of late from now on; unless I get way ahead and just draw a bunch of them. The reason they may be late is because the guy who does color the comics is quite a busy person, which is why the comic is late this week. But I promise you, yes, that's right, PROMISE YOU that next weeks comic will not be late. -Pete Old comics finally uploaded!
October 2, 2008: Finally, after much procrastination and sore fingers, I got all the original comics that jake drew for the old shot down again. That's right, you can now see the old comics that were on the old SDA here: SKETCHES So take a look! I didn't break my fingers for nobody to look at it! ...What else. Oh yeah. I'm 18! finally legal. Friggin finally. Also, No comic this week, Peter is working on another jimtopia flash. if you don't know what jimtopia is, go check it out. we have a link on the links page. Um, don't have anything else. Chuss! -Dirk Wisdom Delays Comics
September 24, 2008: Yup, you read correctly, comic #3 has been delayed until further notice. I do in fact have a good excuse though! I was getting my wisdom teeth removed, for any of you that know what that's like, you know my pain, and for those of you who haven't gone through that or don't have too... consider yourself lucky! So yeah, no comic for a few days. I'll get one up as soon as possible, but for now... sorry... ~Pete Dirks Duct Tape Dilemma
September 17, 2008: Another week, another wednesday, another webcomic. Wow, I'm really doing a lot of alliteration this week, what's up with that? Okay enough screwing around. I decided to devote this blog post to explaining how Dirk got the duct tape on his head, because for those of you who are just joining the fray, it can be a little confusing. If you read my previous post about the history of Shot-Down Again, you'll notice that Kaleb drew and wrote the comic before I did; well in that series, Kaleb was an avid duct tape enthusiast, and also a ninja, so he was simply referred to as "The Duct Tape Ninja." Dirk, in the old comic, then made the stupid decision to piss off Kaleb, and so Kaleb unleashed his Duct Tape Ninja Fury (DTNF) all over Dirk in the form of wrapping up his hair. I may explore this in the current comic, but if I do it won’t be for awhile. For now you can just go to the Sketches page and look at the old comi- oh wait, Dirk hasn't posted the old comics yet! I'll make sure to get on him for that so you can know the epic tail of SDA Season 0! News regarding this comic is pretty non-existant. This actually was one of my friends favorite comics back when they were still on paper, and drawn poorly... *cough* Anyway, so enjoy this one, and happy hump day (God I hope this goes up on Wednesday). ~Pete Risen from the dead, Shot-Down Again is BACK BABY!
September 09, 2008: Oh boy let me tell you it is great to be back; so you're probably wondering, I thought SDA was dead! Jake didn't want to draw anymore! Well that last part still is true. Jake isn't drawing the comics anymore...So who is doing the art? Our good old friend Peter! He worked on his drawing skills all of his last year and he started drawing some SDA comics. They don't follow the old storyline, more of random comics with a plot line sometimes. And to answer your burning question, does dirk still have the duct-tape on his head? Yes. But for some reason he doesn't have glasses... Ah well, it's good to be back, and for those of you who are new, we're gonna keep the old comics in the SKETCHES page along with various sketches we did or fan art we get...The forums button still doesn't work we'll get one up soon. But, for those of you just coming back or are new, welcome, or welcome back! Hope you enjoy. Anything I'm forgetting...? umm...Oh, yeh. BRIGGINS! Aufwidersehen! -Dirk Hey, there's more down here! Scroll down and read this!
September 09, 2008: Welcome to Shot-Down Again (SDA). I'm the artist here, Pete; and I will be guiding you through a brief history of SDA. This comic first began way back in early 2007 when Kaleb (our old artist) got a Wacom Tablet. He spent many months practicing his drawing abilities, while Dirk worked on the website, and I did next to nothing. It was good, we all had a balance of responsibilities. We continued on this way for a few months, and the comic gained a small following. Later on though hope for the comic began to fade away, as our fanbase wasn't increasing by very much, our forums were attacked by porn advertising bots, and Kaleb was getting sick of making the comic. Eventually Dirk, Kaleb and I decided to give up on the comic, and made one final 'goodbye' video. Skipping ahead to Christmas '07 upon request, I received a Wacom Tablet, and spent the next few months practicing with it, and refining my drawing abilities. Meanwhile, at school, I was quite bored (it being my Senior year and all), so I decided to draw comics in my spare time. I was faced with one dilemma though,"What should they be about?" After much consideration, I decided it would be fun to bring back the three "lovable" characters from SDA in a little once-a-day comic that I drew in my notebook. Surprisingly, my little one-panel comics, were received quite well by all my friends and family, even by Kaleb. After I made about 30 or so, with no signs of decreasing humor, Dirk and I decided that we thought it was time to bring SDA back to the web. For the past 3 months, we've both been working diligently, me trying to get comics scanned into the computer and traced, while he orders the site URL, and designs the site. After those last few months of work, it's finally here. Shot-Down Again Season 1! Please enjoy the site, the comics, the sketches, the forums, and make sure to check back once every two weeks for a new comic. One last thing, I'd like to thank three people who make this comic possible. Daolpu; without his coloring abilities, SDA may have ended up being in black and white this time around. SharpShark28; an expert at coding, he helped us make/set up the comic uploading script. Kyros; for letting us use his server. Thanks a bunch guys. -Pete |
